It’s YOUR fault!!
When did our society decide that you’re not responsible for your own actions? Why are there so many frivolous lawsuits? It’s obviously because no one is forced to be responsible for their own actions.
You have the classics like McDonalds coffee is actually hot or robbers who sue their would-be-victims.
This one is priceless. A cheerleader is filing suit because she didn’t make the cheerleading squad! A small town (Yorktown, TX) only had 6 spots on the squad, so the 7th girl is trying to sue!!
Don’t forget the man who, earlier this month, tried to sue 1-800-Flowers. He wanted $1mil because they sent a note to his house. His wife got the note and discovered he had a girlfriend who he had sent the flowers to.
Or the moron who orders a McDonald’s Quarter-Pounder with NO cheese, because he is deathly allergic to it, and then proceeds to eat it without making sure there is not cheese. He wanted $10mil!! You think fast food places get the order right every time?!? I always check my order before I leave - especially in the drive-through.
If I get truly desperate for money at some point, I’ve decided I’m going to buy a Stanley screwdriver, and then shove it in my eye!! They don’t have a disclaimer on the screwdriver, so that should be good for at least $15mil!!
Then there’s a whole different group of regulations and whatnot that we have to do because people don’t want to be responsible for their OWN CHILDREN!! We have to make everything kid-appropriate because actual parenting is far beyond the abilities of a majority of modern parents. Then the parents decide to sue when their child sees/does something that they could have prevented if they had bothered to pay attention. Here’s a story that illustrated this from my life:
I know an elementary school teacher. She planned a field trip to take her class to the Dallas Museum of Art. She sent home permission slips that explained the trip. If a child did not return with a signed permission slip, they were not allowed to go. I think we all realize that art, especially ancient art, usually includes nudity. One child returned home and told his parents about what he had seen at the museum. The parents then FREAKED OUT. They called the principal, and they demanded the teacher be fired. Luckily, she wasn’t, but she WAS forced to transfer to a new school.
