What appeared to be a unbelievable card turned out to be somewhat lackluster after the fact. There were some exciting moments but all in all things went as expected.
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Heath Herring
Prediction: Nog wins - Fight ends in round 1 by submission/tapout
Result: Nog wins - Judges’ decision
This was the debut for Minatauro in the UFC. He put a serious number of skins on the wall over in Japan and would have continued his dominance if not for one Russian cyborg. With Herring and Nog having fought twice before and with Nog winning relatively easily both times, the result of this fight seemed to be a foregone conclusion. Noguiera is a looking very svelt for a 240 lb man. On the other hand, it appears that the Texas Crazyhorse’s trainers have been filling the feedbag to the brim. Early in the match, both fighters are content to keep it on the feet. Nog’s boxing looks very sharp and it appears that his time with the Cuban boxing team is paying off.
